Matt Heintz
I have a passion for getting to know clients as individuals in order to better tailor the therapy experience to their strengths and goals. I value open communication between client and therapist to ensure that my clients are heard, and that their concerns are being addressed. Open communication allows for the client to be challenged to meet their goals and for the therapist to make improvements and adjustments to their approach. I focus on creating a safe and comfortable environment where clients can make progress at their own pace.
I use a collaborative and client centered approach to help my clients develop insight into their problems, achieve a deeper understanding of their feelings and reach their full potential. I specialize in helping individuals with issues related to stress, anxiety, relationships, depression and life transitions.
I incorporate cognitive-behavioral techniques to help individuals recognize negative thought patterns, and to develop more helpful perspectives and ways of thinking, as well as develop skills in mindfulness, self care and emotional regulation. I also make use of psychodynamic approaches to assist clients in developing a deeper understanding of themselves and their experiences.
